The Ranking:

  1. Austrian GPValtteri Bottas won easily in a race where his team-mate’s penalty dropped him from the podiums. Ferrari scored 2nd place despite poor qualifying, Lando Norris achieved a career first podium of 3rd and nearly half the cars conked out due to technical problems.
  2. Italian GPPierre Gasly snagged victory after Hamilton was penalized for pitting illegally, with a McLaren and Racing Point achieving the other podiums. Mercedes had all-around a weak showing, Leclerc crashed hard causing a Red Flag and a restart. Lots of close calls and good racing, though the Ferraris, Alfa Romeos and Haas cars had another miserable race.
  3. Tuscan GPLewis Hamilton lost the lead briefly, but regained it on the second restart of the race. The race was Red Flagged twice, first due to a massive pile-up on the main-straight on the first restart which took out nearly half the field, and again due to Lance Stroll’s almighty shunt off the track due to tyre puncture. Alex Albon gained his first podium and many drivers made mistakes on the unfamiliar Mugello circuit.
  4. Turkish GP Lewis Hamilton secured victory and the championship on a wet and slippery circuit. Lance Stroll squandered his pole and several drivers valuable positions on the slippery track. Sergio Perez took a 2nd place podium and Vettel 3rd place at the last minute. McLaren and Ferrari rose to the occasion while Red Bull failed.
  5. Sakhir GPSergio Perez took a surprise victory in the second Bahrain race with his team-mate and Esteban Ocon taking the other podiums after Mercedes royally screwed the pooch on a double pit-stop for Bottas and George Russell (who is substituting for Hamilton). Perez won despite being caught in a lap 1 incident with Leclerc and Verstappen.
  6. Emilia Romagna GP (Italy) – Lewis Hamilton took victory as other drivers struggled for grip on the Imola Circuit. Verstappen’s tyre popped, Russell hugged the wall, Kvyat beat Leclerc on track, Ricciardo took his second podium and Alfa Romeo managed to get both cars on points.
  7. Styrian GPLewis Hamilton drove to a flawless victory while his team-mate battled Verstappen for the 2nd highest position. The Ferraris collided, taking each other out, and the mid-fielders put on a good show for the final lap. Sadly underwhelming race, though car durability greatly improved from the season opener.
  8. Eifel GP (Germany) – Lewis Hamilton took victory despite starting from behind his team-mate. Daniel Ricciardo also scored his first podium for Renault and Nico Hülkenberg substituted for the third time this season. Drivers losing grip on the returning Nürburgring circuit made for some interesting results.
  9. Hungarian GPLewis Hamilton cruised to an easy victory. A semi-wet track at the start caused a huge shuffle of drivers which ended costing some while others benefited. Haas scored its first point of the season.
  10. Portuguese GP Lewis Hamilton won out despite being overtaken. The start was exciting on the semi-wet track with Kimi Räikkönen launching to the front before eventually falling back. The Racing Points flaundered embarrassingly, while Leclerc and Gasly reached the top-5.
  11. British GP Lewis Hamilton managed to take victory despite him and several other drivers (including his team-mate) suffering disastrous tyre punctures during the race. Grosjean drove recklessly and Kimi Räikkönen was left behind the field with a broken front wing.
  12. Bahrain GPLewis Hamilton took an easy victory in a race started off by an unfortunately spectacular explosion from Romain Grosjean. Lance Stroll got flipped around and Sergio Perez’s car breaking down ended the race behind the safety car. Alex Albon achieved a merciful podium because of this final incident.
  13. Russian GPValtteri Bottas was technically gifted the race win after Hamilton bagged himself two 5 second penalties before the start of the race. Sainz took himself out and Stroll got punted by Leclerc which caused a safety car. Solid drives from Renault and AlphaTauri and terrible ones from McLaren and Alfa Romeo.
  14. Belgian GPLewis Hamilton dominated, while Renault managed to sneak both cars onto the Top-5. Ferrari scored no points and were having trouble with their customer teams. Giovinazzi spun out spectacularly taking out Russell. Beyond which, a very uneventful Spa race.
  15. 70th Anniversary GPMax Verstappen snagged victory from the Mercedes drivers in a tyre wear race. Drivers lost positions to spins and Nico Hülkenberg substituted adequately for Sergio Perez. Sadly, not a very exciting round.
  16. Abu Dhabi GPMax Verstappen won the season ending race which saw Hamilton return after recovering from Covid. Last race’s winner Sergio Perez was unfortunately the only retirement due to a technical issue.
  17. Spanish GPLewis Hamilton achieved another easy victory, while his team-mate flubbed the start. Charles Leclerc had a spin and technical trouble, but Vettel scored points. Quite forgettable race all in all.
