Formula E Quickies: German Round Trio

Unfortunately, I was unable to watch either of the German rounds of the Formula E series.

To sum up quickly: reigning champion Sebastien Buemi, his challenger Lucas Di Grassi and Swedish rookie Felix Rosenqvist dominated the Berlin rounds. Rosenqvist, whose shown great pace this whole season, actually took victory in the first race on Saturday with Buemi not scoring any points and Di Grassi on second (with Heidfeld being 3rd). In the second round, Buemi took victory followed by Rosenqvist and Di Grassi.

With these results, Buemi may not be too safe since he’ll be sitting out on the New York rounds in July. With at least 50 points possibly going to the winner of those rounds, Buemi only has a 27 point lead on Di Grassi. Rosenqvist can pat himself on the back though, as these excellent results have raised him to third in points ahead of Buemi’s team-mate Nicola Prost (who was 5th and 8th in the results).

Jaguar also scored one point from the first Berlin round with Mitch Evans setting the fastest lap.

Here’s looking forward to the New York rounds of which I hope to bring a more detailed report.

Top-3 after 8 rounds out of 12:

  1. Sebastien Buemi, Renault eDams (157 points)
  2. Lucas Di Grassi, Abt-Schaeffler (125 points)
  3. Felix Rosenqvist, Mahindra (86 points)
