F1 Quickie: Manor under administration… again.
Unsurprisingly, the small F1 constructor Manor is under administration ahead of the 2017 season. The reason is quite simple. Felipe Nasr scoring points for Sauber in the second to last race of the 2016 season bumped the team just ahead of Manor.
Ironically, despite this situation, Nasr is now losing his seat in F1s because he doesn’t have enough financial backing. Manor’s drivers are both set to move to other teams (Esteban Ocon moving to Force India with Pascal Wehrlein expected to move to either Sauber or Williams; Rio Haryanto’s lack of backing has seemed to have sealed his chances to return to the sport) so it’s possible 2016 might have been the team’s last season.
As of this writing though, Manor is still looking for an interested party to buy out the team (albeit being bought out would mean their chances of success in the 2017 season will be very slim).
